Our story
Autumn, her husband Justin, and their 3 children, Caleb (25), Camille (19), and Carissa (14) moved to Taunton, Minnesota in 2024. Originally from Sioux Falls, Autumn was excited to return to her Midwest roots. Autumn's photography journey began in 2006 with family photography as she developed her skills and understanding of her subjects. In 2007, she started training under world-renowned Maternity & Newborn photographer and celebrity photographer, Ana Brandt. She has continued to learn new techniques in lighting, posing, editing, and more from her longtime mentor. Her photography services now include:
Maternity photography
Newborn sessions
Senior/Graduate portraits
Commercial headshots
Real estate photography
Seasonal sessions
Autumn has completed numerous newborn courses, including specialized training in the safety of handling and posing newborns. She attends clinics and conferences each year to maintain her expertise in the field.
Autumn was recently selected as a Certified Volunteer Photographer for the Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep organization in Minnesota, the only one in her area for 50 miles. This significant recognition highlights her specialized skills and compassionate approach to newborn photography.
She has also embraced new technology, studying AI in conjunction with photography to create unique, one-of-a-kind backdrops and sets for both her clients and other photographers. These digital creations are available through her print company, Dairy Hill Digitals.
Beyond her photography business, Autumn and Justin have homeschooled their children for over 16 years. They've now graduated their two oldest: Caleb, who lives and works in Sioux Falls, and Camille, who attends the Pre-Veterinary program at SDSU. Their youngest, Carissa, is a freshman in high school who shows goats in 4-H and other events throughout surrounding states. Carissa has also started her own breeding program and is working on acquiring more genetics for her herd.
The family runs Dairy on a Hill farm, continuing their homestead tradition with farm-to-table offerings including chicken, duck, turkey, and their respective eggs. They'll soon expand to include lamb and beef as well.
